Hand-picked Utah County happenings, straight to your inbox. No fluff, no spam, easy to leave.
Most Utah agencies make you book a call before they name a price, but a few post their rates online. We pulled those rate cards, from Provo to Lehi to Salt Lake City, and put them next to the national surveys so you know what a fair quote looks like before the first sales call.
A Utah small business usually pays $249 to $1,500 a month for local SEO, $500 to $1,500 a month for social media management, and $1,350 to $13,050 a month for a full-service retainer, going by the published rate cards of Utah agencies like Utah SEO Pros, RedSEO, Bechieve in Orem and Big Red Jelly in Provo. Google Ads management usually costs 10% to 20% of what you spend on ads, with a monthly minimum, according to WebFX. The ad budget itself is billed on top of the fee.
The table below uses two kinds of numbers. The Utah column comes from the agencies' own pricing pages, read on October 27, 2026. The national column comes from surveys and review data, and it is labeled as national because none of these surveys break out Utah.
Read the Utah prices as starting points. Every agency in the table adds scope as you move up a tier, and several charge a one-time onboarding fee before the first month. Tobe Agency in Lehi, for example, charges $999 per location to set up its $1,250 a month local SEO plan.
| Service | Utah published prices | National benchmark |
|---|---|---|
| Local SEO | From $249/mo (Utah SEO Pros, Salt Lake City); $1,250/mo per location plus $999 setup (Tobe Agency, Lehi); $1,500/mo month to month (RedSEO, Salt Lake City) | $1,557/mo average for local SEO (Ahrefs survey) |
| Full SEO retainer | From $2,500/mo (RedSEO) | $3,209/mo agency average, $1,348/mo freelancer average (Ahrefs) |
| Google Ads management | From $599/mo plus $599 setup, ad spend not included (Tobe Agency) | 10% to 20% of ad spend, or about $1,000 to $3,000/mo (WebFX); $7,165/mo average PPC engagement (Clutch reviews) |
| Social media management | $500, $1,000 or $1,500/mo tiers (Bechieve, Orem); $333/mo posting only, $222/mo boosting (Social Butterfly Utah) | $5,107/mo average agency engagement (Clutch reviews) |
| Website build | From $750 (Lemon Head Design, Spanish Fork); $799 plus $20/mo hosting (Noble Web Design, Lindon) | $38,105 average project, most projects under $10,000 (Clutch reviews) |
| Full-service retainer | $1,350 to $13,050/mo (Big Red Jelly, Provo); from $2,500/mo (3TR Media, Provo) | No national survey we trust for this one |
Monthly retainer. You pay a flat fee every month for a set list of work. This is how most SEO is sold: in the Ahrefs survey, 78.2% of SEO providers charge a monthly retainer. Bechieve's social plans and RedSEO's local SEO plan are both retainers with no long-term contract, so you can stop after any month.
Project fee. One price for one deliverable, usually a website, a logo or a launch campaign. Lemon Head Design quotes most of its website projects between $2,500 and $30,000+, then offers a maintenance plan from $129 a month after the site goes live.
Percentage of ad spend. The agency takes a cut of what you spend on Google, Meta or other ad platforms. WebFX, a national agency, puts the usual range at 10% to 20%, with the percentage falling as the budget grows. Its own rate card charges $750 a month for accounts spending up to $5,000, then $975 or 15% of spend, whichever is higher, for accounts spending $5,000 to $30,000. Most agencies on this model set a monthly minimum, so a small account pays the minimum, not the percentage.
Performance pricing. You pay per lead, per booked call or per sale. It sounds safe, but read the fine print on what counts as a lead and who owns the ad account. None of the Utah agencies we checked publish a per-lead price, so you will only see this model in a custom quote.
Some agencies also bill by the hour for one-off work. Ahrefs found the average SEO hourly rate was $111, and Clutch lists $100 to $149 an hour as the common range for PPC and web design firms it reviews.
On the three Utah rate cards below, the low tier covers posting and upkeep, the middle tier adds more channels and content, and paid ad management shows up near the top.
Social media at Bechieve in Orem. The $500 Starter plan covers 2 platforms and 8 posts a month with basic graphics. The $1,000 Growth plan covers 4 platforms, 16 posts and one short video. The $1,500 Premium plan covers unlimited platforms, 30 posts, 4 short videos and paid social ad management. The page does not say the ad budget is included, so assume it is not.
Local SEO at RedSEO in Salt Lake City. The $1,500 a month Utah Dominance plan covers Google Business Profile management, listings on 50 to 300 directories, a review request plan, local keyword work on your pages, city landing pages and a monthly report. Broader SEO starts at $2,500 a month.
Full service at Big Red Jelly in Provo. Its Grow plans start at $1,350 a month on annual billing and run to $13,050 a month at Enterprise. Every plan includes a growth strategist and a HighLevel CRM. Paid digital ads first show up in the Pro plan, streaming TV ads and lead nurturing in Advanced, and traditional ads in Enterprise. If you want someone running paid ads, budget for Pro or higher.
The management fee pays for the people. The money that buys clicks goes to Google or Meta, billed to your card, and it is extra. Tobe Agency's Local Paid Search plan starts at $599 a month and says plainly that it does not include ad spend. Social Butterfly's $222 boosting plan says the same.
To size the ad budget, use LocaliQ's 2026 national benchmarks from thousands of Google and Microsoft search campaigns: the average click cost $5.42 and the average lead cost $66.69. At those averages, a $1,500 monthly search budget buys about 275 clicks and about 22 leads. Add a $599 management fee and you are near $2,100 a month before anyone answers the phone.
Click costs vary a lot by trade, and LocaliQ's report breaks them out by industry. Ask any agency for the click and lead costs it is seeing in your trade in Utah County, and ask for them in writing.
If you have a few hundred dollars and want to know whether local people will respond, you do not need a retainer to find out. One option is a local newsletter ad. We sell ads in Provo FOMO, so weigh this accordingly: a single issue costs $99 and goes to about 3,000 Utah County subscribers. You can book one issue and measure the calls or coupon codes that come back before you sign anything longer.
Other cheap tests: a free Google Business Profile, a listing in our Local Directory, or doing a month of your own posting before you hire someone to do it. The full list of our ad options and prices is on the advertise page.
Get answers to these in writing, and compare at least three quotes for the same scope.
If your budget is under about $1,000 a month in total, a freelancer or a focused one-channel shop often gets you more work per dollar. The Ahrefs survey puts the freelancer SEO average at $1,348 a month against $3,209 for agencies. Agencies make more sense once you run ads on two or more platforms, need video and design every month, or simply have no time to manage the work yourself.
Some owners do part of it in house. If you want to write your own posts and ads faster with AI tools, our free AI 101 class for local business owners walks through it, and you can keep the agency budget for the work you cannot do yourself.
