Hand-picked Utah County happenings, straight to your inbox. No fluff, no spam, easy to leave.
A sign is the one ad you pay for once and it works every day, so the shop matters more than the price of the vinyl. This list covers six sign companies with a shop in Provo, Orem, American Fork, Lindon or Spanish Fork, and says what each one actually builds.
For a storefront or building sign in Utah County, call Pro Signs or Signarama in Orem for lit letters and permit help, Notatek in American Fork or Creative Signs in Spanish Fork if you want one shop to design, build and install, and FASTSIGNS in Provo for banners, window graphics and vehicle wraps. Get two quotes, and ask each shop who files the city sign permit.
Pro Signs works from a shop on State Street in Orem and builds electric signs: channel letters, halo lit signs, neon and LED. It also makes vehicle wraps and banners, and its site says design, fabrication and installation all happen in one company. The site states more than 20 years in the industry. If you need letters on the front of a building that glow at night, this is the first shop to call in Orem.
This is the Orem location of the Signarama franchise, on 1200 West in Orem. A business directory listing for the shop lists city sign permits, design, and sign printing and installation, and the shop also makes vehicle wraps, vinyl lettering and window decals. For a business opening in a leased space, a shop that lists the permit as part of the job is a good place to start. Ask it exactly what the permit step covers before you sign.
Notatek runs one shop on 580 East in American Fork where it designs, builds and installs signs. Its site says it has made signs there since 2009, that its own crews do the installs, and that it handles permits and site surveys on multi-location jobs. It also makes vehicle graphics, trade show displays and branded apparel. A Lehi or Pleasant Grove business that wants the person who quoted the sign to also own the install is a good fit.
Creative Signs is in Spanish Fork and builds LED video displays, outdoor pole signs, dimensional interior signs and channel letters, plus vehicle wraps, banners and yard signs. Its site says the sign manufacturing is done in house and that the company has operated since 1999. A Utah state procurement document lists a Creative Signs address on 200 East in Spanish Fork, and other directories list a different street, so call before you drive over. It is the closest full shop for a business in Payson, Salem or Springville.
The Provo FASTSIGNS location is at 231 W 1230 N. Its page lists custom signs, banners, feather flags, wayfinding, building signs, digital signage, monument and free standing signs, and vehicle graphics and car wraps, with graphic design and installation as services. One page shows hours by appointment only, so call or book before you stop by. It suits an office or a contractor with a few trucks that needs lettering and a consistent look.
Graphik Display & Sign is on 1400 West in Lindon, between Orem and Pleasant Grove. Its site lists a street address, a phone number and weekday counter hours, and one customer review on the site is about matching a small piece of vinyl that had been installed years earlier. The Better Business Bureau lists it under signs, flags and neon signs, and a design directory describes it as doing LED sign service and installation in Utah County. Call and ask which of those jobs it does in house.
We searched for sign companies in Provo, Orem, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Spanish Fork, then checked each candidate two ways. First its own website had to load today and show a street address in a Utah County city. Second, an independent listing, such as the Better Business Bureau, a business directory or a state document, had to put it in the same city. We checked on November 6, 2026.
A lot of names did not make it. One American Fork shop's website still loads, but a directory lists it as closed. A national franchise's page for its Pleasant Grove center now returns a page that no longer exists. Several shops that rank on Google for Provo sign searches turned out to be one company with a page for every city, or had no street address we could confirm. Salt Lake City shops that say they will install in Utah County are not here, because the point of this list is a shop you can walk into.
The order is by fit for a local business that needs a sign, not by size. Shops that list installation and say they build in Utah County come first. Nobody paid to be listed, and our own newsletter is not on the list, because it is an ad seller, not a sign shop.
Owners often call a sign shop and say "I need a sign." The shop then has to ask which of five different jobs you mean, and they cost very different amounts. Name yours first.
A permanent outdoor sign in a Utah County city usually needs a permit from that city's building or planning office, and cities set their own limits on size, height, lighting and how many signs you get. We could not read Provo's or Orem's sign code today, because the city code sites block automated requests, so we are not going to quote you a rule. Call the city before you design anything: Provo, Orem, Lehi and American Fork each handle it a little differently. If you are also getting your city business license, the Provo business license guide shows the order of steps.
If you lease your space, your landlord or property manager often has a sign standard for the building, and a lease can say which sign types and sizes are allowed. Ask for that sheet first. It is much cheaper to change a drawing than a built sign.
On the shop side, ask one question out loud: who files the permit, and is it in the quote? Signarama's directory listing names city sign permits as a service, Notatek's site says it handles permits on multi-location work, and Black Canyon Signs in Pleasant Grove, which is not on this list because we could only confirm it from its own site, says on its site that it can supply the sign specs a permit application needs. Get the answer in writing for whichever shop you pick.
Every shop here will give you a quote. Use the call to ask these, and write down the answers.
A sign works on people who are already nearby. Someone driving down University Avenue in Provo, or past a strip mall in Orem, sees your name and where you are. Nothing in that moment tells them to look you up later, and a sign cannot tell you who saw it. Pair it with a complete Google Business Profile so the same person can find your hours and phone number. The Google Business Profile guide walks through it.
If you are weighing a roadside sign against a billboard, the billboard cost guide covers what Utah billboards cost and where. The where to advertise guide compares signs, search ads, mailers, radio and newsletters side by side.
We sell ads in this newsletter, so weigh this accordingly. Provo FOMO goes to about 3,100 Utah County subscribers each weekday. A one issue test ad is $99, the top spot in a single issue is $199, and monthly sponsor plans run $249, $299 and $649 a month. See the current menu on the advertise page. It is a way to reach people who live in the county and read local news over breakfast, not a replacement for the sign over your door.
