Two parades, fireworks, and FROZEN under the stars: your weekend is full

Plus where to grab peaches Saturday morning, the SCERA Shell musical playing all weekend, and a Sunday waterfall worth the short walk.

Good morning, Happy Valley.

Oremfest closes Saturday with its night parade and a fireworks finale that ends at 10pm. Springville's Art City Days wraps the same morning with a 10am parade down Main. Both ends of the Valley throw a parade June 13.

Here's the weekend worth planning around. Grab a dirty soda and pick your spots.

Oremfest closes with a night parade and fireworks Worth it

Oremfest closes with a night parade and fireworks

Orem's flagship summer festival ends its 'Red, White, Blue and You' week with a Grand Parade after dark and a fireworks finale over City Center Park.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Sat Jun 13 ยท Grand Parade 7-9pm ยท fireworks start 9:45pm, end 10pm
๐Ÿ“Address: City Center Park, Orem ยท parade starts at 800 S & 800 E, turning onto Center St ยท ~10 min from downtown Provo
๐Ÿ’ตCost: Free ยท carnival rides and some events priced separately
โฐTiming: Parade spot-saving is only allowed after 9am Fri Jun 12. Carnival, food vendors, and boutiques open at City Center Park at 10am Saturday, so make a day of it
Our take
The best free night of the early summer. Stake a parade spot Friday, ride the carnival in the afternoon, then stay for fireworks. Organizers ask you to clear the park fast after 10pm so crews can start cleanup.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: The drone show is Friday Jun 12 at 9:45pm, not Saturday. Confirm parade and fireworks times at oremfest.org before you head over, since the night schedule can shift.

Worth the Drive

๐ŸŽก Art City Days grand parade, Springville

Springville's week-long festival closes with a 100-plus entry grand parade, then a family concert and fireworks at the Arts Park.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Sat Jun 13 ยท Grand Parade 10am ยท family concert & fireworks 10pm
๐Ÿ“Address: Springville ยท parade starts at Buckley Ave & 400 S, heading north on Main St ยท ~12 min from downtown Provo
๐Ÿ’ตCost: Free entry ยท carnival rides charged separately
โฐTiming: Springville's parade is morning, Orem's is night, so you can do both ends of the Valley in one Saturday if you want. Balloon launches go up around 6:30am Friday and Saturday at Art City Elementary if you're an early riser
Our take
If you're south end, this is your morning parade. Easy and free before the heat sets in.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: Route and start times can move year to year. Confirm the closing-day schedule at springvilleutah.gov before you go.

๐ŸŽถ Live This Weekend

Disney's FROZEN at the SCERA Shell, Orem Worth it

Disney's FROZEN at the SCERA Shell, Orem

The full stage musical of FROZEN, performed outdoors under the Wasatch at the SCERA Shell as part of the 2026 summer season.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Runs Jun 5-20 ยท plays Sat Jun 13 at 8pm (dark Wednesdays/Sundays)
๐Ÿ“Address: SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, 600 S 400 E, Orem (inside SCERA Park) ยท ~10 min from downtown Provo
๐Ÿ’ตCost: Ticketed ยท seating tiers vary
โฐTiming: It's outdoor seating, so bring blankets and low chairs. An 8pm Saturday curtain pairs cleanly with an early Art City Days parade, not the Oremfest night parade
Our take
A full-scale musical under the stars is the SCERA Shell at its best, and FROZEN is the family draw of the early season. Book ahead for a Saturday seat.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: Saturday performances sell well. Confirm date, curtain time, and availability at scera.org before you drive over.

โš ๏ธ Heads up: Parking around Pioneer Park fills fast on market mornings.

Oremfest 5K & benefit breakfast

Run the 5K or walk the 1-mile from Center Street to 800 East, then a benefit breakfast that funds local kids.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Sat Jun 13 morning ยท breakfast $6 per person or $30 per family
๐Ÿ“Address: Center St to 800 E, Orem ยท ~10 min from downtown Provo
๐Ÿ’ตCost: 5K registration set separately ยท breakfast $6/$30
โฐTiming: A morning run plus pancakes is a low-cost way to start the festival's biggest day before the afternoon heat
Our take
Burn off the carnival food before you eat it. The breakfast goes to local kids, so it's an easy good-cause start to Saturday.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: Confirm the exact start time and registration at oremfest.org โ€” race times were not posted in full at press.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Sunday Outdoors: Pick of the Weekend

Bridal Veil Falls, Provo Canyon Pick of the weekend

Bridal Veil Falls, Provo Canyon

A 607-foot double-tiered waterfall right off the Provo River Trail, running hard with June snowmelt โ€” the first stretch is flat and paved.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Daylight hours ยท paved lower path, short and stroller-friendly
๐Ÿ“Address: Bridal Veil Falls, Provo Canyon (off US-189, ~3 miles up) ยท ~12 min from downtown Provo
๐Ÿ’ตCost: Free
โฐTiming: Go Sunday morning before the canyon fills. May-June is peak flow from snowmelt, so the falls are thundering right now
Our take
The biggest payoff for the least effort in the county โ€” a giant waterfall on a paved path. A clean Sunday option when the parades are done.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: A reconstruction project has the lower parking lot closed through about July 2026, so park at the upper lot or Nunn's Park. Spray makes the rocks slick and the pool is dangerously cold โ€” keep kids back from the base. Confirm lot and trail access before you drive up.

Plan ahead

Freedom Festival ramps up next week

America's Freedom Festival, Provo's run-up to the Fourth, kicks off its event slate June 15 with weeks of parades, concerts, and tournaments through July 4.
๐Ÿ•Hours: Festival events begin Jun 15 ยท runs through Sat, July 4
๐Ÿ“Address: Across Provo & Utah Valley ยท Valley-wide
๐Ÿ’ตCost: Many events free ยท Stadium of Fire set by seat
โฐTiming: This weekend is the calm before it. Lock Stadium of Fire seats now, since the cheaper sections go first
Our take
Use this quieter weekend to plan the busy one. If you host family for the Fourth, grab seats before the lower-priced sections vanish.
โš ๏ธ Heads up: Confirm the full event lineup and dates at freedomfestival.org, since the schedule spans many venues.
