If you need three warehouse hands by Monday or an office admin for a month, a staffing agency is faster than a job post. This list covers six agencies with a branch in Provo or Orem, says what each one places, and flags where the directories disagree about an address.
For temp and light industrial help in Provo, call PeopleReady or Express Employment Professionals. In Orem, Spherion handles temp, temp-to-hire and direct hire, and Elwood and Ascend lean toward production, warehouse and clerical work. Call two of them with the same job description and compare how fast each can send someone.
The Provo branch is at 175 S Freedom Blvd, open Monday to Friday, and its page says it supplies on-demand temporary workers in construction, hospitality, events, manufacturing and retail. Workers register and pick up shifts through the company's JobStack app, and employers can request staff from the same page. That setup suits a contractor who needs four laborers on a job site next week or a retailer covering a holiday rush, and it suits less if you want a long search for one office hire.
Express runs its office at 663 N 1890 W in Provo, and its page lists office services, light industrial and skilled trades roles, temporary and full-time. The page also names Orem among the areas it serves, so an Orem business can call the Provo office. It says candidates go through a multi-step selection process and describes the screening as ISO 9001:2015 certified. It is a reasonable first call when you are not sure whether you need a temp or a permanent hire.
Advance Services lists a Provo branch with a phone number, (801) 413-0111, on its locations page. Its site names food production, agriculture, manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, clerical and school work among its industries, and it also lists professional placement and direct hire. That mix fits a Utah County food or packaging plant that needs shifts covered. The company's site does not show a Provo street address, and directory addresses differ, so call before you drive over.
Spherion's Orem page gives 1143 West Center Street, open Monday to Friday, and says walk-ins are welcome, though it asks you to call or text so a recruiter is free. It lists temporary staffing, temp-to-hire, direct hire, on-premise management for high-volume jobs and outsourced talent acquisition, and its current openings were food production, product inspection and packaging. Directories give two other street addresses for Spherion in Orem, so confirm where to go when you call (801) 221-0550.
Elwood's Orem branch is at 1256 S State St, call 801.225.1010. A second Elwood brand, Skill Staff, shares the same address under its own phone number for trade work. The Orem job postings on Elwood's site run to light industrial work, clerical and office roles, and skilled trades such as construction labor. The branch page lists no hours or service menu, so ask what turnaround it can promise for your role.
Ascend, which was called Intermountain Staffing before a 2019 rename, runs a Utah County branch page and an Orem office at 1651 N State St. Its recent Utah County postings are production assembly, maintenance, label control and admin roles, with openings in Orem, American Fork and Spanish Fork. The branch page loads but we could not read a street address on it, so the Orem address and the phone, 801-374-8000, come from the company's own job listings. Treat that as a reason to call first.
We searched for staffing and temp agencies in Provo and Orem, then looked at each candidate's own website for a branch page naming one of those two cities. For every agency that passed, we then looked for a second source that agreed: a directory such as ClearlyRated or the BBB, a job posting that named the same office, or a news article. We checked on November 7, 2026.
A lot of names dropped out. Select Staffing shows up on directories for an Orem office, but its parent company's Utah branch list has no Orem entry. Kelly Services lists Provo job postings, but we could not confirm a branch address. Tradesmen International recruits for Orem and Provo projects without a branch we could find. Teamworks Group in Provo is described in press coverage as a payroll and benefits company, not a staffing agency. Bacon Work, an app for hourly shifts, is headquartered in Provo by several profiles, but its own site shows no Provo office. App marketplaces such as Instawork are real, but they are not a branch you can walk into.
The order is by fit for a local business hiring a handful of people, not by size. Agencies with a branch page that lists a street address and hours come first. Where directories disagreed on an address, we say so in the entry instead of picking one.
The agency will ask which of three jobs you mean, and the fee structure changes with each one. Decide first so the quotes are comparable.
The Utah Department of Workforce Services estimated the state's unemployment rate at 3.6% for July 2026, unchanged from June, with about 25,200 more nonfarm jobs than a year earlier. The US rate was an estimated 4.1%. The state agency did not publish a Utah County figure in that release, so we are not quoting one.
In practice that means a posted job in Provo or Orem competes with every other employer in the county for the same people. A warehouse job that pays the same as the one down the road may sit open, and a good office hire may have two offers. An agency already has a pool of people who are looking this week, which is the reason to pay one.
If you are new to the area, the Utah County chambers of commerce are a free way to hear which local employers are hiring and what they pay.
Every agency here will take a call and give you a rate. Ask these and write down the answers.
An agency makes sense when speed matters or the work is short. For a role you plan to keep for years, a posted job costs less. We run a job board for Utah Valley employers on our jobs page: $149 per post, live for 30 days, one payment. It is a good fit for a retail, restaurant, trades or office opening in Provo or Orem, and it is a job board, not a recruiter, so you do the screening yourself.
We sell ads in this newsletter, so weigh this accordingly. Provo FOMO goes to about 3,200 Utah County subscribers each weekday. A one issue test ad is $99 and the top spot in a single issue is $199. See the advertise page for the current menu. A hiring ad in a local newsletter can work for a business people already know, but it reaches readers who may not be looking for a job today. The where to advertise guide compares it with the other options.
